Hi,

I'm currently on a C4 visa (having had several E2s before) working at a camp, and want to work at another short-term job which starts in a few weeks time.

I submitted all the latest up-to-date documentation about 6 weeks ago, so it should - in theory - be on record with Immigration.

If I want to get another C4 for the new job, or if I want to get an E2 visa, do I need to re-submit everything again, or will Kimmi be able to use the information they've already got to process my visa? I know they do this for a new E2, but does it work with C4 (which requires the same documents)?

Alternatively, is it possible simply to change employer on the C4 visa? It's valid long enough for my purposes...

If you already have a CBC that went through the recent process, then I am guessing transferring won't be hard. Since you have changed a few times, maybe you were able to bypass the more stringent rules/steps.

What kind of CBC did you get? Let's start there.

Guessing he is from the UK (from his user name) and if it had an apostille he would be good for a transfer (IF a transfer was possible).

C4 is a non-extendable 90 day temporary (short term) work visa. To the best of my knowledge it cannot be transferred nor extended beyond those 90 days. He may be able to file for a change of employer PROVIDED he does not need to go over those 90 days and with the permission of his current sponsor.

Again, to the best of my knowledge he would NOT be able to transfer to an E2 nor would he be able to do a change of status from C4 to an E2 BUT it may be worth a try (better than a new E2 visa application which would require new documentation).

Thanks Ttompatz - useful insight from you as always. I am indeed from the UK - However I possibly didn't explain myself clearly enough in the initial post.

As I understand it, once one has jumped through the hoops to submit the most up-to-date set of application documents for an E2 (apostilled degree copy, Apostilled criminal check etc) then one can extend with the same employer or obtain a new E2 elsewhere within three months of the expiry of the initial E2, without needing to re-submit all the documents which Kimmi already have on record.

I'm interested in whether the new rules regarding E2s also apply for C4 visas. The documents submitted are essentially the same for both, so Immigration should have on record up-to-date apostilled copies of everything I need. I wonder, therefore, if I can apply for a new C4 visa, or for an E2 visa, without re-submitting everything again?

However, if it's possible to apply for a change of employer on the existing C4, that would probably solve the problem...I'm actually off to Thailand in October, this would just be for a potential short-term job in late August/September - so not too keen on messing around getting all the documents together again unnecessarily...
