Hi
I just arrived in Korea and I'm taking a trip to Busan next weekend. I don't know anyone there so would anybody like to meet for a drink? Please be my weekend friend! I'm teaching in Cheongju and I'm from England.
I've been told a love motel is my best bet for accommodation, does anyone have any recommendations?
Also, does anyone have any recommendations for places to check out that are not in the tourist guides?
Thanks |

a) don't stay in one near haundae, you'll pay an arm and a leg. most weigooks here are dumb and don't realize you can pay half the price for a SHORT cab ride away
b) you don't need to make "friends" online before you go there. are you a guy? i was in busan last weekend and my friend and i brought two girls back to our hotel. cost me a grand total of 0 dollars. why would you waste time hanging out with a bunch of dudes? most foreigners i saw in busan were f-u-g-l-y and didn't have the guts to go up to any of the cute girls there. amazing what a smile and being your best self can accomlish |

Oncheonjang & Sasang have the cheapest rooms in Busan by far. 35-40k per night. All the ones I've stayed in have been clean & nice.
There are a bunch of bar nights on Saturday for the Busan Haps issue release - the event is here if you want to check it out - http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=262899530392559
Best place to meet other foreigners is either at the bars listed there, or in Kyungsung. You'll meet people no problem - buy a pitcher of beer for a table of waygooks and they'll love you forever. |

Thanks for the recommendations guys, much appreciated.
marsavalanche,
Even you had a wingman pal! I'm 4 days in so don't know many people and welcome the company of any gender or race at this stage. Doesn't mean I won't approach strange girls who look fun to talk to, you never know where it may lead, as you have shown us. |

fair enough.
but seriously, if you see a girl alone on the street, walk up to her , SMILE , and play the im a dumb lost foreigner card, then take it from there. dont go up to girls that are in a hurry, thats asking to get shut down. it works, good luck |
