hi all,

if any of the forum experts could please advise...

i believe there was some legislation up for review regarding moving holiday dates (red letter days) that fall on a saturday or sunday to the monday.

has there been any update on that legislation? can anyone provide a link to the current news about it?

it is particularly relevant given that in 2012 there are 6 holiday dates that fall on a saturday or sunday.

thanks for any answers

I know years back that was the policy but it was changed because of business days. Knowing Korea and their love for dilligence, I can not see this happening.

It died a quiet death due to business associations lobbying against it (unless you are thinking of a different piece of legislation)

Many if not most Koreans work on a Saturday so having a holiday fall on a Saturday would not unduly disturb them.
