I just recently graduated from university and want to teach through EPIK...hopefully a public school in Seoul. I want to join their spring 2012 term and the application form comes out in October. So I'm wondering if I should start the FBI CBC now? I live in California if it makes a difference. Is it too early? The reason is because browsing through this forum gave me the impression that getting this notorized and apostilled takes ~2 months?
Also I don't know who I should get recommendations from. I don't have much work experience, except some volunteer positions.....but it has nothing to with teaching. And I don't think an online TESOL recommendation will count as much since it's not personal. But I did tutor a korean student in my university, can she write me a recommendation even though it wasn't a formal job?
Lastly, since I just graduated...I won't receive my diploma until maybe 4 months from now. Would that hinder my chance of getting into Seoul?
Please feel free to give me any tips/advice in teaching abroad. I'm completely new to this. Thank you |

Looking for a job in the spring of 2012?>
Order your FBI CBC in early Oct.
Apply when you get it back with the apostille on it.
You won't need the degree (photo)copy (with apostille) till you apply for the job so getting it in Nov./Dec. is not a problem.
