Somedays, I feel like I'm surviving, but if I did a 30,000 foot view of my life right now, I'd have to say that I'm definitely thriving. About to be finally debt-free in 3 months and have a 2nd business underway. Just have to rediscover my travel bug and get back into learning Korean again, and I'll be happy as a pig in sh*t.

the low salary of an english teacher only allows for surviving...thriving not allowed...

Surviving due to the fact I am saving for a wedding. If it wasn't for that, then thriving.

I am here because I am thriving- if I was merely surviving I would be gone in a heartbeat!

Two pig ears & milkbones a day, a swimming pool on the way...I'd say I'm thriving.

Did you ever consider hooking up with KwangjuChicken? It's starting to smell like a barn around here.

It's interesting that so many people who replied to this thread saying they're "thriving" even though more people voted for "surviving." In fact, so many of the threads on this board seem to come from people who are barely surviving. Smile Anyway, I guess I could say I was barely surviving before because I've been so utterly bored to death in my 9-6 office job here, but I'm suddenly thriving because I got my dream job back home in the States and I'm financially thriving with my job and various privates and things that I'm doing here. However, if I had to stay in this job with no better prospects at home or here, I wouldn't even be surviving.

Just two more months! But...you know...I will miss some things about this place. I think I have a love-hate relationship with Korea.

I am surviving. The money is good and my savings are growing, but......

Unless I am in a beachfront cottage in the Caribbean, writing novels in my sunny, hot and breezy sunroom, I am only survivin'......

Oh!! Dreams!!
