Hello! I'm still kinda new to Korea

But I think I'd like to stock up on some familiar groceries. Can anyone fill me in on which Costco is the easiest to access from Incheon, and also maybe help me out with some subway directions?

just take the subway to Yeongdongpogu Office Station.

so from incheon it will take 1 hour to the station. go to that thread for specifics

I've seen a costco from the 1301 bus that takes me to Hongdae/Seoul Station, Its about 25 minutes into the bus ride.. I was kinda hoping it'd be easier to get that one. From what I could gather while on that bus I can't get off anywhere close by, I noticed it when we were on a busy highway. I'll read the thread you posted but if anyone who lives in Incheon can give me some tips I'd appreciate it.

That's the same Costco. The bus from Incheon to Hongdae goes through that area. There are only seven Costco locations in Korea. Four are outside Seoul, in Ilsan, Daejeon, Busan, and Daegu. The three in Seoul are in Yangjae (south end of the city), Sangbong (northeast corner) and the Yangpyeong-dong location in Youngdeungpo.

I got there today no problem but from where I live I had to get a bus to incheon bus terminal, then transfer at Bupyeong to Line 1. It took well over an hour to get there. I was wondering if next time it'd be better to get that 1301 bus and get off somewhere nearby and maybe walk or taxi the rest of the way? Or is seeing it 25 minutes into that bus ride just a tease? I've only used that bus route once or twice and I don't think there were any stops too close, but maybe not to far to taxi?

According to Naver, the 1301 bus has a stop called 양평동 강서세무서 (Yangpyeong-dong Gangseo Saemuseo), which is a 15-minute walk down the street from the Costco.

If you stay on the same street as the Saemuseo (tax office) but walk away from the river, you'll get to the Costco.

The directions are the same for everyone coming on the #1 line from south of Seoul. That includes: Anyang, Ansan, Suwon, Pyeongtaek, Cheonan, Uiwang.

Take the #1 line north to Sindorim Station. Transfer to the #2 line that runs towards Mullae Station. It's on the right when you walk down to the #2 line. (Note- be careful at Sindorim as there is a branch of the #2 line that runs to the airport. You don't want that one).

Get off, after, two stops at Yeungdeungpogu Office Station. This station is also on the #5 line. Walk out exit 3 and do an immediate U-Turn. You will be facing a KB Bank. Turn right at that corner, after the bank, and walk for three blocks and you'll see Costco. If you get confused, just hop in a taxi and say "Costco."

There are other Costco's in the Seoul area and in Ilsan. Check the Costco Korea link to see which one is closest to you.

Costco is open every day of the year except the second day of Chuseok, (it's a 3-day holiday), and Lunar New Year Day. Sometimes it will open 1-hour early close to busy shopping holidays like Chuseok.

If things are the same as past years then Costco will reopen after Chuseok with Christmas items already on sale. Yes, that's right, Chuseok is in September, this year, and Costco will probably have Christmas items for sale the next day.

Just a tip- some of the more popular Christmas items will sell out early. During the past few years, Costco has had large tubs of small candy canes that are perfect for giving to large groups of students or co-workers. These large tubs of candy canes have been sold out well before December. If you intend to do something special in your classes for Christmas buy 1-2 tubs and stick them in a closet until Christmas time.
In case you were wondering, Costco hasn't stocked Christmas cards but you'll have no problem getting those closer to Christmas.
