|
|
i've resigned from my hagwon job where i currently work on an e2 visa.
ill be transferring to an e7 and then working an internship for a small monthly stipend (no pension, medical, etc...).
because i'll be transferring the visa, i wont be leaving the country, and therefore wont be able to present the pension office with an outgoing ticket.
should i wait until i go on vacation to claim my pension? if unclaimed could it "expire"? ideally i'd like the money asap... will i be going on a "pension run"? |

You'd have to have an outbound ticket to collect the pension.
The expiration date is I believe 5 years? So it won't expire on you anytime soon. |

I don't recommend taking a job with a low pay to get an E7. One of the issues when I tried to renew an E7 years ago was that I hadn't earned enough. The E7 is for qualified people ergo they don't work free.
It is a very difficult visa to get as you need a reference from the appropriate ministry stating that your employment is beneficial to the Korean economy, you may not even qualify.
Pension runs can work, I showed a 1 way ferry ticket to Japan which I then cancelled and bought a return, as you must physically leave the country. I held onto my ARC, but I have heard of others having issues with different staff.
Depending on your degree try www.goldcard.or.kr if you want an E7, but make sure that you are earning and paying tax regardless. |
