I can't seem to get a straight answer from the few recruiters I've spoken to, so I'm hoping someone here will have some experience dealing with my question.
I've been working for a hagwon since November 2010 and will finish up my contract this upcoming November. I plan on applying for the February EPIK intake, and am now in the process of gathering my E2 visa documents. Like I said, I haven't lived in the States since last November, and I obtained my FBI criminal record check shortly before moving to Korea at that point. I will go back to the States in late November, and will only be there until I fly to Korea again in February.
So my question is this: Do I need to have another FBI CRC run? It seems strange to have to apply for another, since I've been in Korea, not America, for the last year, and my status cannot have changed. I'll only be in the States for 2 months before coming back to Korea, and the CRC will be run before the time I spend back home.
I've also spoken to my hagwon boss, and she's offered to both let me copy or have the original CRC.
Some recruiters say I can use the old CRC and have a Korean CRC done. Others say I can only do that if I am staying in Korea until I start my EPIK job.
Does anyone have experience with this or know who I can talk to that can give me a straight answer? |
