For the first month at my new apartment I was just plugging in from the modem.
Finally I went and got an iptime router. I've seen them everywhere, so I thought they would be a reliable brand (I usually go with linksys)
The first day it was great. But since then, it keep dropping the signal every 10 mins or so. I have to go and unplug it and plug it back in or hit the reset button.
Any help? |

| Just have your ISP send an engineer to fix things up. |

| Most of the reports I've heard about iptime routers are bad. If its under warranty, exchange it. Otherwise get a different brand. Belkin has the option for English here, but I'm sure there are others. |

You might have an issue with your type of account you have with your ISP.
Some accounts only allow one IP, check it out. |

A router has only requires 1 IP. You might be thinking of a MAC address, which most routers can clone from the PC. |

I am no tech expert, but I had a problem with my connection cause I got 6 PC's connecting to it, I had to upgrade my connection. |

That sounds like something different. The router appears as a single computer with a single mac address and IP to your ISP. The only way your ISP should even be able to tell its a router and not a computer is the TTL on the outgoing packets.
What you're talking about sounds more like a business connection where they are given multiple IP's for multiple computers at a single location. It could also be that you had so many computers that you were going above your bandwidth soft-cap. I don't know the specifics of your situation (and am not exactly an expert on ISP's either), so I can't say for sure. Either way, 1 computer unable to get wifi from 1 router is almost definitely not the fault of the ISP.
OP, your best bet would be to physically plug in your computer to the router and see if you are having the same problem. If not, check to see if your computer has a problem connecting anywhere else. If not, the problem is definitely with your router and should be exchanged as soon as possible, as it is likely still under a manufacturer's warranty, and should be replaced free of charge. |
