You can go to a motorcycle hagwon and just get the motorcycle license and not have to take the car test. It should be 원동기 license for 125cc and under. Then you can just take the other class for 125cc and up. |
So:
1) Motorcycle hagwon for 125cc and under
2) Regular test for 125cc and up
Or do I need to do the written test? |
You can go to motorcycle hagwon only for just the 125 and under or 125 and up. Just depends on which license you want. I did the license for the bigger bikes and had to do 3 hours of listening to someone talk but no written work. And had to do 10 hours on the course and then took the driving test. |

And you don't have a Korean car license right? |

I do but my friend did it with no drivers license. First, he got the 125 and under and learned a bit, then came back and did the 125 and up one. |

Just wondering something.
I have more than a year's experience riding a 125cc motorcycle. I'm totally comfortable with riding and everything that it entails (except a lot of the cars )
Do you think I would pass the motorcycle test? Should I give it a try? Or should I still go to a hagwon, pay the fee and practice...? |

probably won't pass unless you have driven those crappy, korean cruiser-style bikes before, but just try the test... it's not expensive and you'll know exactly what you're up against. you could try a mess of times before the cost will match what you will pay for the hagwon. if you luck out and get a test with a comet, it's much easier. incheon had a comet when i did mine. |

If I have a current international driver's license (issued within the last year), can I drive a scooter under 125cc? Or do I still need to get a Korean license? Thanks for any feedback. |

Hey everyone, I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm planning to take an extended visit home back in states so I'm looking to sell my bike so it doesnt just sit in here in Korea collecting dust.
How much do you think I could sell it for? It's a 2010 Daelim Roadwin, which I bought new, back in March 2010. (2,500,000won)
It's got a few dings on the body, but otherwise looks fine and runs great.
Thanks in advance for your help. |

Ah, I envy all of your motorcyclists in Korea. I just got back to Canada and it's horrible having to check your speed all the time. And around Toronto there are barely any twisties; near Busan and Ulsan was some amazing motorcycling.
I'd take a 250 in Korea over any bike around Toronto. |

Does anyone know of a place in Seoul that rents scooters or motorcycles? Looking for a 125cc or smaller for next weekend.
Thanks |

I've got a 2007 Daelim Roadwin R up for sale. It's got about 6800km on it and it runs great. I'm located in Bundang and asking for 1.8mil but we can negotiate. I'm throwing in a bunch of extras too. Email for pics and more info or check out Craigslist to see the ad. |
