I'm getting the 'This Accessory is not optimised for this Iphone' alert. Has anyone had this problem in Korea?

I googled it and it would appear that it's either water damage, a bent pin or just fluff and other crap in the connector. Is this problem known in Korea or has anyone had a similar alert and gotten the phone fixed? I know plenty of people with iphones in Korea, but none of them has had the particular message before.

Another problem is that the shop where I purchased my phone has gone under. Can I just go to any KT store and ask for it to be fixed, or would I just have to go to some Apple repair store? (I have insurance).

I had some trouble with it over the past few weeks. It seems to be related to humidity. I go outside for a little bit, sweat a bit and get the error. Go inside, error goes away.

With the previous IOS update they increased the sensitivity on the dock connector which is causing all these problems for people.

What finally fixed the issue for me was to clean out the doc connect with canned air and then lightly scraping the inside of the dock area with paper. After which I updated the software and reset the phone. Haven't had the error in a few weeks.

Right. Problem solved. I'm guessing it was the mositure in the air. Last Saturday, I went looking for a can of air, but I had no problems and that alert didn't appear. I haven't had any problems since. I did clean out the connector part though (Christ! A lot of crap there!).

Thanks!
