500? 1,000? 5,000?

I found "Bundang Social Club" on facebook, and the group has 1,135 members. So my shot in the dark guess, based on that social club, would be around 4,000. But I really have no idea, does anyone have a better guess?

Well what exactly do you mean by foreigner? Western English teachers? Or anyone who is not Korean? I'm going to guess that the facebook group is heavily skewed towards westerners. And beyond that, I'm sure it includes people who live nearby, people who lived there before but have since moved away, people who are planning to go there in the future, Koreans who want to meet foreigners, etc. Not exactly rock solid statistics.

If you're interested in all foreigners with a registered residence in Bundang you can find the statistics pretty easily for any location in Korea at http://www.kosis.kr

As of 2010 there were 16,334 foreigners residing in Seongnam City. Of those, 3,507 were living in Bundang-gu.

Bundang is actually one of the few places where the use of "foreigner" to mean English-speaking Westerner might make sense. More than a third of the registered foreign residents in Bundang are English-speaking Westerners.

For Korea as a whole, however, two-thirds of all foreign residents are either Chinese or Vietnamese. You're as likely to find an Uzbek as an American (not counting soldiers), as likely to find a Burmese as a Canadian, and as likely to find a Saudi as an New Zealander.

I should have been more clear. What I meant by foreigner, was english-speaking foreigner.

Thanks for the website link.

Yes, in this case, Indians, Singaporeans and Filipinos too. They too are included in my research.

I would say less than 5% would be on a Facebook social club. 25% is ridiculous IMO.

Bundang social club consists of a lot of non-bundangers though. I've noticed only a few members I talked to live in Bundang.

also, from personal experience in Sunae, I've met at least 3 people from Kazakhstan, 3 from Vladivostok, Russia, 7 from the Philippines, over 10 Indians and that's on top of 40+ westerners that I know.

So it's a very multicultural area for sure.

Wonder why though because everything is so bloody expensive here!
