Also allows you to steam vegetables while downloading porn...at the same time. That's hi-tech.

We strapped a 4 meter high-gain antenna on the roof of the store, and were able to pick up wireless signals that were 2km away. Though such a toy is meant to have two of them working together for doing a distance shot from mountain to mountain of 30km rather than trying to see if one can pick up the WiFi at the hotel eight blocks away.

you might be able to locate a wifi signal at that distance but i doubt you could get any decent speeds from it.

So it's actually a colander with a signal amplifier? What's the actual USB contraption called?

I've seen people surfing the net on the train (not subway).

Internet on the beach: Vacationers enjoy wireless Internet services at Gyeongpo Beach in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, Monday. Gangneung City offers connection to the mobile Internet free of charge.

It would be great if this were true, but it isn't. Although wireless internet is becoming a little more common in a few modern-style cafes in Gangneung, it's still far from common. South Korea is the most wired country in the world. That much is true and it's mostly because of the enormous number of computer gaming rooms. But Wi-fi has a long way to come here.

During the daytime, I'm able to piggyback on some unsecured wireless connections with reasonable signal strength, but at night not as much success.

Hello, just picked up an ipod touch and was wondering if there are any updates regarding free wifi hotspots--particularly in Gwangju. Or did I just spend a boatload of cash on a boat heading over the falls (so-to-speak)? Anyone?
