Metallica suck, Beavis.

For heaven's sake, listen to something decent, namely...King Crimson:

Godflesh:

There's further great news. The world's greatest ever band, Tool, will release a new album in May 2012. Yes, it's rather disappointing that we have to wait so long, but rest assured that it will be yet another angry, transcendent masterpiece. Also, Opeth will release a new record next month.

why did you have to say "mainstream" in the subject line?

An album that sold over 20 million copies in the US alone and was on a major label is not mainstream?

Regardless, pretty terrible album, guess they were really out of stolen Mustaine and Exodus riffs by then.

yeah, i'm saying there wasn't any reason to say "mainstream".

could've just said "twenty years ago this album was released:".

(as a fellow metal-lover, i also agree with you. this album was TERRIBLE.)

Tool. Nah saw them live once and found them to be mediocrity exemplified. The opening band, Isis were ok though.

As for King Crimson. Yes they are quite good.
