I'm pretty sure they are serious, the head of the department has called me 3 times to discus classes, the admin department has called me about a visa etc even called me at 8pm on Friday night saying i'm there guy but they need confirmation from the dean.

Then again I have had another university pull out at the 11th hour last month, that's why I have loyalty for my current employer, they took me back after I said I was leaving for pastures greener.

I have been offered a job at a university. I have never had a interview with this university but I did send in all of the documents for the 3 stages of the screening process.

The semester is suppose to start in a week and I have been asked to 'get' a letter of termination from my current employer, and go to Japan and wait.

I haven't even seen a contract yet, so I don't even know the terms, the terms in the advert were good.

on a scale of 1/10 how strange is this?

I'm not going to name the university but it's not small.

On a scale of 1/10? It's a 10.

IFAIK, university classes don't start until Monday, August 29th.

You better make sure nobody is pulling your chain...

Ask when classes start. Ask when the dean will confirm. Ask when you can sign the contract.

I they answer, "We don't know", something is even stranger than the fact you didn't interview for the position.

Dean confirm 25th

why I didn't interview...... now that's just crazy. But I did say I can't make the interview because I was busy, maybe everyone else sucked.
