I've been thinking about organizing a craft show and charity auction for an NGO that helps trafficked and disadvantaged young people, so who are the creative types here? What kinds of things do you make? Are you looking for ways to sell what you make? How much would you be willing to pay for a table at this sort of event? Would you be willing to contribute auction items? Would this concept even work here in Seoul? I'm thinking about a date in December.
And for those who can barely sign a card...would you be interesting to attend such an event...what if it were free and how far out of your way would you travel for such a thing? It's for a good cause and it's likely to happen at a church that is centrally located but not exactly teeming with foreigners, so it's probably a little out of the way but not a lot. |

I crochet as a hobby, but I don't think I would be able to create enough products to sell...
I would be willing to attend such an event, however, provided it were within Seoul city limits and on a weekend. |

illy, this is a really good idea. for something like this, i'd travel to wherever.
i can do carvings, tables, chairs, benches, music boxes, cabinets, lamps, doll houses, pottery, paintings, sculptures, blankets, curtains, and a few more. |

Good idea.
Maybe you could have a raffle on one nice item. People could buy tickets at the event, and you could sell tickets online and through word of mouth. Yes, it would mean more work for you, but it would be one way for people who couldn't make the event to "participate". Shipping something (the prize) would be fairly cheap within Korea. Good luck and keep us posted. |

Fantastic idea, I have lots of friends who would be interested in having a table. I'll pass this thread along to them. |

I'm getting to work on it and I hope to hold the event close to Christmas time, perhaps at my church, or with any luck, a larger one or just a good space with lots of foot traffic. I've found that with my current work schedule, I can give 10 to 20 hours a week to this, plus our organization has a full time admin and some other teachers who are keen to help. It's going to work out. PM me for my contact info. |

I'd go tot something like this, just to meet the people at the tables, and check stuff out! I don't do enough to want a table, though. I have no idea where to get nice stuff to do crafting with here. I swear, dongdaemun must have a hidden place where they keep the good stuff everyone raves about, because when I go, all I ever find is expensive crappy poly fabrics and yarns. I'd kill for a Michael's! |

My favorite craft is crocheting afghans, which would be too time consuming to be able to be done for an auction. However, I would definitely be interested in attending as a consumer! |
