Loved with all the little references to the original: Cesear playing with Miss Liberty, Corneli-A!, "get your hands off me", the Circus Orang who is obviously the LawGiver, the end landing in NYC (the forbidden zone or Ape City as it will become), and they didnt say it, but all the referencing to the famous motto "Ape shall not kill ape" and of course, the final talk between Cesear and Franco made everyone in the place gasp. Very cool.
I think Tim Burtons was a bit too kitschy, i watched it here in K long ago.
not mention of Milo though, guess thats a backstory... |

| If you liked Alien over Aliens and The Terminator over T2, you'll like this film more than Burton's one. |

burtons was kind of based on the book, and this was a mix of a prequel and conquest of the planet of the apes, with some free ideas. Itll lead up with the sequels to the 1st movie which is like 3900ad or so, i think.
The orang is the father of Dr Zaius, I know it.
the next movie will be a human vs ape war with Koba (the feral freaky one) leading a side thing to kill off all humans. Mark my words.
loved it.
nice read

Well worth watching!
Dramatic and fun. Would have liked to see just a BIT more action at the end since it seemed the apes were just getting started with their havoc.
Walking around the mall afterwards and watching everyone and their behavior and mannerisms got me thinking; we really are all a bunch of apes basically!
Also, wonder how bad the great apes/primates in captivity are really treated (labs, compounds, shelters, etc.) compared to the movie, because that primate compound was pretty messed up. |

Anyone knows if I will be able to watch this in Korea?
http://www.project-nim.com/
I cannot find it in theatres in the Korea, it is not on DVD ( http://www.lovefilm.com/film/Project-Nim/162775/ ) yet and I did even tried to download it (I know, shame on me) but w/o luck...
I want to watch it so much....
Planet of apes was cool, just due to anatomic limitations apes are not capable of speaking and throwing spires too. We pay quite hefty price for being able to speak, many, many people choke to death cos of this recent evolutionary 'feature'. |
