LOL... this certainly isn't America.
You'll find that after you leave the bible belt that most of the things you think are illegal are common Saturday entertainment in the rest of the world.
-things like sitting out in front of your local convenience store drinking your beer before you walk through the red-light district and look at the ladies in the window on your way to the clubs for an all-nighter of drinking and dancing before you catch the 5:30 subway for your ride home.
. |
I think that your opinion of how or what I view as illegal are a bit off in my case... I'm lucky to be alive.. I have seen three of my friends die within the last 7 years from drug addiction, depression or an indirect result from drug addiction...in my hometown you cant walk down certain streets without getting robbed or at least get your ass busted,,, you can get crack cocaine at any moment of the day so I'm not so worried about what happens elsewhere in the world as being the eye opener to soemthing I havent seen before .... Im not the naive hick that many people outside the Bible Belt tend to try and group us southern boys as... I've been overseas to Bangkok and Mexico and seen the stuff that happens there and remain unfazed... My comment on how we are lucky we dont get what we deserve was based upon how merciful I have been treated by others and my own family after a life long process of making the wrong decisions and still being in the position to have a future... have a great day |
Drugs are the cause to so many problems. After being here I've realized that a lot. You see no scumbags trying to rob you, acting strangely, or robbing convenience stores. Not saying there aren't problems here, but drugs definately cause a lot of problems. I wish the west would take a hard line on dealers and pushers. Give them the death penalty! |

I don't say that lightly. I've definately toked a little in my youth and stopped. But see how many people seem to go as the years go on. The lives ruined, the potential lost, city streets that are unsafe. Drugs have a huge consequence. I guess I don't care if people toke once in while, but all other drugs have got to go. |

Ok, these posts belong in off-topic or current events. We don't need a bunch of people arguing over each others views on the legality, illegality, War on Drugs, morality of doing drugs, etc...
Let's wait a few more minutes and the first person will bite and let the arguing ensue.... |

Side note to the TS:
FWIW I am reading a lot of high-risk behavior patterns and not a little stress-ridden life-style in your last post. IMHO worrying about whether a DWI (aka: DUI) is going to turn-up on your FBI Check is probably the least of your worries. You have already alluded to "a life long process of making the wrong decisions" which tells me that at some level you wonder whether this might follow you to another country.
The short answer is "yes".
And when you make those "wrong decisions" in a different country you will be that much more at a disadvantage not having a grasp of the appropriate resources to help yourself. IIWY, I would get into a program of some sort. Not because you may be alcoholic or a druggie, but because you may need to demonstrate to yourself that you can go for a designated period of time ----say a year---- making only sound productive decisions and hanging with people who want the same. Accomplish this and I think you will be in a better place to consider a "geographic cure".
Best Wishes,
Bruce |

I dont want to clog up the whole board and also know that this is a job forum... a few misunderstood folllow up posts to my thread have occured and to set the record straight ..I have been clean for over ten years from putting anything into my body.... I have worked in public school settings for over 8 years with students with disablities or regular education students while being clean and have fought the idea from many people that once you have lived a certain type of lifestyle that you can not change your life around... I have travelled to Asia over three times for vacations and have loved the food lifestyle and people...have dated a fine woman for 6 years from an Asian country Im one year away from getting a certified teaching license in Special Education..my thread was genuine in that I wanted to know about my chances of finding work in region that I enjoy... I did not come onto this site to toot my own horn about how great I am..teaching has been my profession for the last 8 years but when i would read the assumptions from posters about who I may be as a result of my lifestyle or region of the country I come from or the fact that I may be naive for not lying my true self comes ut and makes me want to post the reality of my life... in all good form I thank the posters who have tried to give me the best information that they could give and if i could have PM I would not have wtritten this post in this forum... |
