I think the rain has stopped for a while. I want float in a tube, drink beer, and work on my tan. Does anyone organize floats down the Han?

In some of the river park areas you can rent boats and things, but I'm not sure what the rules are on just going out into the open up and down it. There are other craft that use the water, so you have to be able to keep aware of and avoid them.

You don't want to expose your body to the Han for long periods, it's pretty poluted. That's like saying you want to float the East river in New York.

Does the Han even move? The only time I ever saw a current was after the heavy rains at the end of July. And even that was a joke.

I imagine that if you'd dump a body into the Han, it'll just float there on the spot until decomposed. Must be a real annoyance for serial killers.

I'd recommend finding an official "float" stream, but you'll probably have to share with a lot of other people.

Ya an unmotorized "craft" needs to avoid speed boats and jet skies? Geni

Yes, you do that by not going into areas where they are, and avoiding the main lane where the water taxi and passenger ferry/boat goes up and down the han.

Weso, I've been thinking of doing the same thing. Except not in a tube, but one of those small inflatable boats you buy at emart. PM me if you're serious! hahah Cool

Actually I have been considering this also...but i was more up for the tube...and not in Seoul.

I was thinking about leaving my car downriver...and then going 15-20 km upstream and floating back down. Franky i think it sounds pretty cool, and now that the rivers are swollen from rainy season it might actual be fun!

Any folks around Daegu/Gyeongsan interested...hit me up.

One of those Gander Mountain-type stores must sell an inflatable raft w/paddles. Air up one of those bad boys, grab your shades, slather on some sun screen, grab a few cases of Cass and float the day away. You could always take a quick dip in the water to cool/rinse off. The only thing missing are the bikini-clad Korean dames, but you can bring your own. Pull this off and you'll be the envy of every sucking-air-through-the teeth adjosshi on the Olympic Expressway, stuck in his SUV in traffic with his over-the-hill wife pissing and moaning about finances, etc., wondering where he went wrong in life.
