Hi All,
I am trying to watch some of my shows in Korea...but HuLu doesn't work, Netflix doesn't work. Does anyone know of a website that allows American TV? I've found some that offer some shows...but is there anything available that allows you buy American cable TV to watch through the internet so I can get all my favorite shows?

Thanks!

You could use an IP masking software to allow access to Hulu, or illegally download/pirate the shows (usually an hour or two after they air) by using a combination of websites like isohunt.com and a torrent client like uTorrent.

Just about everything that airs in the US is available online to download, if in fact, you're a dirty pirate that likes breaking the law.

I was missing all of the American TV programs from back home. I had my grandmother ship over an old American TV she never watched. Problem solved. Except, it only shows Freinds, and The Wheel of Fortune in black and white.

Ooooooooooh, I miss those AFN commercials. My all-time favorite was the suicide prevention one.

If your soldiers make comments like, "I just wanna die" or "I'm gonna kill myself," they MIGHT be thinking about suicide. Laughing

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hagwon

this coming from a person who can't manage to spell the romanisation of a fairly common korean word correctly in their username.

Well I got the channel in Daegu so I don't understand why you are being disagreeable. Unless Korea isn't working out for you? Wink

HULU works 95% of the time is you go through "UltraSurf". You may have to sign in and out a few times, but that is no big deal.

thanks for all the suggestions....

I'm not very good on computers so I'm still confused!

I did download Utorrent, so it's downloaded but now what? I still can't get the shows.

What's an IP masking software? How do I get it?

What does it mean to "go through Ultra Surf?

Pretend I am one of your students and I just don't get it! Can someone walk me through it?

Thanks
Denise

The easiest way to get Hulu & Netflix is through a VPN. I use StrongVPN's $7 per month service and it works pretty well. Sometimes the picture's a bit pixly, but no major problems so far. I've been happily enjoying Pscyh reruns for the last couple of weeks.

You pay for the service, then they'll send you an email with step by step instructions (including pics) on how to make it work on your computer.

also afn is going to be unavailable as a over the air signal as of the end of the year, it will only be available if you have the dish you get from aafes

just because you are an american in kores DOES NOT MEAN you are entitled to the same services members of the usfk get as in getting on base etc those people have to be here, we have a choice so get over it

Downloading to utorrent is pretty easy. Also, if someone really loves you at home and doesn't mind paying for the extra cable box (or having you wire them the money,) have them get a slingbox and you can control the cable box from your computer.
