I'm actually typing this from a touchpad I got on amazon. Its meh. A year or two ago this would have been pretty sweet, but it not even close to an ipad. Hardly any apps, quirky, and not as multimedia friendly. That being said for 100 dollars you pretty much are obliged to pick one up.. I got a 16 and a 32, gonna sell the 32.

oh one positive to note is the web browsing is pretty good

You forgot sluggish, hot, slippery, short battery life and prone to fingerprints. Plus, whereas the ipad seems to telepathically know what I'm trying to push, I seem to often miss what I'm trying to push on the Touchpad's screen. At full price, you'd have to be stupid to pick it up compared to an ipad2.

All six of my Touchpads shipped. I'll be giving one, maybe two to relatives. Keeping the rest. They'll go well with my four ipads.

To madoka and joshuascott:

You guys should look up "hp touchpad 1.7 overclock" on Google. You can safely overclock your Touchpad and install a couple of patches with almost no battery life hit. Check out some videos on Youtube if you need to be convinced. It really flies after you do it.

Unfortunately, all of my orders from hp.com and barnesandnoble.com were canceled. I heard that hp.com might be selling them again this weekend, though, so fingers crossed.

Your absolutely right on those points. I found the web browsing to be acceptable once I turned the logging off. I'm going to overclock it today and see what happens. Programs are for the most part sluggish. The OS is ok, but apple's OS is so far ahead of webOS its almost not even comparable. My touchpad is simply a way to fill the time until I can get my hands on the new ipad. Oh and apparently it double posts on daves when you send messages....

I spent all weekend trying to get a touchpad or two. After finally getting my frist one in last night it was a letdown. With most tech products you get enamored with for quite some time. I played with it for about an hour and went back to my macbook pro. If you can get your hands on the 16gb for 99 do it otherwise don't stress over it. I think everywhere globally will see the price cuts just not immediately.

Oh and IchibanKimchi if you are willing to pay shipping I will sell to you. I'll be in Korea in a few weeks but won't have room for it in my luggage. Its suppose to ship Sept. 1st so let me know by then if you'd like it.
