Tell them if they want to know then ask the other school. If they won't then don't work there. |

Tell them its immaterial to the job and interview. If they still demand it, I wouldn't under any circumstances. Shady from the beginning is no way to start. |

Are they the same chain of schools, but different branches? |

There's got to be another reason.
I think they want to know how long you worked at your previous school, not how much you made (which could be cleared up by simply looking at your previous contract, not that I think hagwons should be allowed to expect this either). |

You should be asking them to prove how much they make.
How many students do they have?
How many teachers?
Salaries vs tuition etc.
Two can play at that game. |

Did you ask them why? I would. Is that how employers are getting in Korea now? Asking people to do insane things because they feel they have the upper hand? Yeah... Probably schools will start asking teachers to mop floors, take out garbage, and clean windows. Yeah...
I'd seriously just tell them "I'm not Korean." |

You should feel great, it means one thing:
They have no clue what they're doing and likely so new that they're not really sure how much the going rate is at the moment for someone with your experience. Use it to your advantage. |
