Do you do it? Where? Any good?
I did a couple dives up in Kyungpo last weekend (close to Gangneung). It got me excited to dive in tropical waters with colorful fish again, but there wasn't much to see. I've heard great things about Jeju and plan to go there at some point, but I'm more interested in places off the mainland that are a bit cheaper to get to. |

Haven't dived in Korea yet, but this group seems to have fairly regular dive trips. Might want to check them out if you're interested in a group to go diving with to various spots around Korea, or even for just some ideas/info/pictures about other places they go. They just had a trip around where you were I think.

Yeah, I went with them. They're a great group and I had a blast.
They're doing a trip to Palau this month that would be frickin' fantastic if I could swing it.
I'm just putting feelers out to see iwhat some other furehners have experienced and maybe even find a dive buddy in Daegu or Busan. |

I've been diving with a few of the clubs around Korea and can second the Dive Korea one that a previous poster mentioned. I also like Aquatic Frontier. They both do trips to various places in Korea.
However, the best place to go by far is Jeju Island. Big Blue 33 is a shop run by a German guy. The most professional place I've ever seen. It's definitely worth checking out. |

I've made up a little site about scuba diving in South Korea.
http://www.squidoo.com/scubadivinginsouthkorea
I hope it's helpful. I know there are always a few people who ask about it here on Dave's. |

I used to dive with Deep Blue Quest a lot. Great people and they offer many different packages also. They do trips to jeju and Philippines also.
Watch out for some sites that claim to do it really cheap. Have found that they then add on a lot of extra charges that end up being more expensive. Get a flat rate before hand is my honest opinion.
www.deepbluequest.com and they have a facebook page as well |

A few recommendations:
If you're just seeking a dive buddy then checkout the Facebook group Find a Dive Buddy - Korea. http://www.facebook.com/groups/Findabuddy/
The people who frequent this group tend to be divers from the Ulsan/Daegu/Busan/Geoje area who own their own equipment and just want to find someone to dive with.
If you're looking for a shop who runs organized trips, then your only real option in the Busan area is Sea World Busan. The foreign instructor, Drew, is a great guy and runs regular trips to Pohang, Uljin and Geoje. They also do foreign trips every 2-3 months (the next one is to the Philippines in October). We actually just got back last night from a 2 day trip to Pohang. Visibility was awesome for Korea (12-15m) and we saw tons of fish and a very nice wreck.

I also dive regularly in Korea, so if you want any additional info let me know. |

I can second what was said about Deep Blue Quest.
I've been out on the coast with them a bunch of times and have always had a good time. Some other organisations quote lower prices, but I've ended up paying more (for accommodation, buses, etc...)
They have taken me from Open Water through to Assistant Instructor.
have a look at www.deepbluequest.com |

More likely on a menu than off the Korean coast. |

I wasn't too impressed diving on the East Coast, but I'd do it again if I didn't have to pay for a guide. In other words, if I owned a tank and could fill it. I have all my other gear here, both warm and cold water and am pretty much ready to go.
Me. 98 Dives, PADI AOW, last dive this summer in Europe. Diving for 11 years ( most dives from 2006-2008 )
Would actually appreciate meeting some good/experienced divers in Korea that know their stuff and go diving with them. I'm in Seoul, but... can travel |

I'm an instructor with all my own gear. I would love to find a group of experienced divers who just want to rent tanks from a Korean shop on the East coast and go out diving for the weekend. Chuseok trip anyone? |

We should talk. Can't do Chuseok, but another time, yes. I'll PM you... Where do you live? I'm in Seoul. |

Yes, especially if you're here teaching for a year, then off to SE Asia for a backpacking trip. Do it there, like in Thailand.
If you're planning to do it in SK, many of the above-mentioned outfits will certify you. Go with people's recommendations and you'll have a grand time |
