So my American bank account is with ING Direct and they do not accept international wires. They do accept ACH International Transfers.
My Korean account is with Hana Bank, and they can't do an ACH transfer.
What am I supposed to do? Where can I get an ACH Int'l transfer?
Using a friend or family member from home as an intermediary is not an option.
I read the stickies and couldn't find an applicable option..

Get money orders or travelers checks and mail them to your bank in the USA. That may be the easiest solution if you can't just open up a new account.
What kind of horrible bank doesn't accept wire transfers anyway? I find that hard to believe.
And... what the heck is an ACH transfer? I've never heard of it. I asked my girlfriend who works in a Korean bank and she has also never heard of it. It may be possible somehow, but you'll likely have a hard time with it. Koreans don't know what this is. And if I'm anything to go by, neither do most Americans. |

Automated Clearing House (ACH) is an electronic network for financial transactions in the United States.
Uses of the ACH payment system:
-Direct deposit of payroll, Social Security (United States) and other government payments, and tax refunds
-Direct debit payment of consumer bills such as mortgages, loans, utilities, insurance premiums, rents, and any other regular payment
-Business-to-business payments
-E-commerce payments
-Federal, state, and local tax payments
-Bank Treasury management departments sell this service to business and government customers
You will need to make arrangements for a 3rd party in the US to assist you, find another bank or find a way to do a paper transaction with ING (can they accept checks for deposit?)

| I'm not expert of IMG but I was under the impression that ING needs to be linked to a real brick and mortar financial institution, no?? That's how mine is at least. |

I'm not disputing the fact that ttompatz does indeed "rule", but fail to see how it is applicable in this situation.
Can you explain what you did so others can do the same if necessary? |
