Hello all,

I will be moving to Daegu in a couple weeks. Just wondering if anybody has any general tips on what to expect when I first move there?

Also any suggestions as to what I should bring over there from home and how much cash I should bring? I apologize if there is already a thread about this. I could not find any. If there is, feel free to link me there.

You could not find any?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! This guy obviously just wants you to do his research for him. I'll link you to my rear end.

Since, the search function here is about as helpful as the Canadian embassy, we should probably cut the guy some slack. If you don't want to answer, don't post. Stop being an ass.

OP, I don't know Daegu, but you're likely to feel alienated and confused for a while. Just learn to relax and you should be ok. There are plenty of things here to remind you of home if you get overwhelmed and the internet makes staying in touch w/ people easy.

One thing to bring is deodorant; it can be hard to find and very expensive. Oher than that, you should be able to buy most of everything you need.

Deodorant, big towels, vitamins if you want, and as much money as you can.

vitamins? seriously?

it's not difficult to walk into one of the literally thousands of pharmacies here and ask for a decent multivitamin. and they have very good stuff for an inexpensive price. my ex-girlfriend was an herbalist, and she drilled me before i got here on what to look for in decent vitamins.

there's either some joke that i'm not in on, or i've managed to find things that everyone else in this thread seems to be missing in this country. big towels? you can't get them in korea?

are you people high?

Definitely not a lie, obviously you don't know what you are talking about. Check the price on that deodorant, and while you're at it, count the number of stores besides Lotte Mart that sell it.

I've noticed the big stores have beeen rolling out the deodorant for summer. But when I arrived in winter I couldn't find deodorant in any of the Lotte Marts or E-Marts I went to. So I would hardly call it a myth.

Most of the spray deodorants I've seen are for women. If you're a spray guy (particularly an Ax guy), you should bring some.
