Hello,
I just moved to Daejeon (today)...
I will be teaching in Guemsan, but I live somwhere in West Daejeon.
I am assuming there must be pockets of expat communities here.
How can I find them?
Can anyone suggest where I should go or what kind of activities are available/recommended in Daejeon.
I am 27 Canadian female- hoping to find yoga-and/or a (cheap-fitness center), korean language classes (rock climbing-i heard there are rock climbing clubs around korea), volunteer, general cultural experiences..
Any suggestions on where to start would be greatly appreciated!
I start teaching on Monday

I would advise you to get things straight in your apartment and at school, first. Give it time. Then you can start planning larger social activities.

If you're on facebook, search for a group called Daejeon Peeps. There's a community of over 500 people there that answer questions, organize outings, sell things when they leave, etc. If you're not on FB, I can put you in touch with some people to hang out with. But the FB group is your best bet.

Enjoy Daejeon, I miss it.

I've tried searching for "Daejeon Peeps" on Facebook, but it's not showing up. Does anyone have a link to them?

Deajeon Peeps was an awesome resource. But the Nazi Mod's are horrible.

They will ban you for anything.
posting too much
answering questions too much
posting links to albums
posting pics
selling stuff
not being active

Check out Daejeon knowledge. Its new and growing daily. And the best part you wont get randomly banned they would actually warn you if they're complaints.
