|
|
i just moved to seoul this week to study. i've been in the country roughly five months - beforehand i was living in yongin.
i don't really know any people in my area (sinchon) but i'm thinking to go out tonight on my own anyways.
i haven't really been out on my own before in seoul. given the culture most places seem group-oriented, but are there some places in hongdae/sinchon area where it wouldn't be weird to rock up by myself and get a drink?

Mike's Cabin or Beer O'Clock might work for you. |

there are always people rocking up to beer o' clock solo. The owners are decent guys and will make you feel comfortable. not too sure about mike's cabin as it has been a while but it's a decent place to chat to random koreans after about 12pm. |

Sinchon is the best, just walking around can be fun. If you don't know anybody, just go to Beer O'clock and sit at the bar. I'm sure you'll find someone to talk to there. There's a couple of dirt cheap arcades there that have games like Tekken 6, if you're into that. There's a batting cage right past the Artreon theater, again dirt cheap (I think 1,000 won for 15 balls). I would pre-game at Sinchon then head to Hongdae around 11:30. |
