| I am new to Seoul and I am looking to join a gym. I want one that is open on weekends/late and is easily accessible from where I am..I'm on the 7 subway line and live in the northeastern part of the city. Any suggestions? Also, looking for an Englsih-speaking personal trainer. My school has a small gym but its hours of operation are not convenient for me as evenings and weekends are better for me and it closes early. Any suggestions appreciated! |

Sorry I can't help here. But I wanted to ask people living in Seoul a question. Is there such a thing as a large gym in Seoul or in Korea? Just curious, because it seems I always find these small gyms that don't have much but charge a lot. (Maybe 50 to 70 K won.) I recall, paying 50 bucks a month back home and going to large, spacious, and luxurious gyms. I imagine they don't exist here. But just curious about Seoul.
What might help you is to write the name of your dong or Gu in Korean. Then, beside it, type in 헬스 크러브. Not sure if that's spelled correctly. Anyways, put it in Naver's search engine. You'll get a map towards the bottom of the page. It'll be in Korean, but you should be able to recognize the geography. I beleive you can zoom in on it. Hope that helps. |

| there are tons of gyms everywhere, find a sign that says 헬스. most people on here won't be able to help you with finding a specific gym. you just have to search around. |

Many of the large apartment complexes have a gym facility. They are often well equipped and the fees are quite reasonable (I think my wife was paying about 25k won for the one at Hanil town in Suwon).
If the OP is looking for one off the street then she will have to don her boots and take a hike around her neighborhood and SHOP AROUND for the best rates in the area.
It is hard to swing a cat and not see a gym in most of Seoul.
