Apple is not "the pack" (Samsung is #2, you should know) and for all of the company's innovation in design, they use over-the-counter hardware, some of which is made by Samsung. Seriously, do you know what Samsung have been doing for the last 10 years in any detail? Do some research beyond the smartphone area and tell me there is no innovation going on in the company. |
Most companies like to come up with an identity for their own brand. And if they want to take advantage of another company's success they buy the rights or buy the company - like BMW buying up Austin and only then producing the new look Mini. It just wouldn't occur to most companies to shamelessly rip off someone else's design, but Samsung has gone right ahead. |
I heard that the Chaebol don't really buy other smaller Korean companies. They form a "partnership" which means the Chaebol learn [i.e. steal] everything they can about the technologies/innovations of the smaller companies while the smaller companies have a brief association with a Chaebol to help market their products.
At the end of it all the Chaebol has taken everything about the other company's technology as its own leaving the smaller company with nothing gained.
Korean Chaebol don't innovate they "steal" and assimilate.
We are the Chaebol. Lower your restrictions and surrender your factories. We will add your innovation and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your company will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile. |
