So I'm new here, like three weeks, and Chuseok is coming up. To be honest, I'd rather explore Seoul later. I want to take a trip somewhere in Korea and I'm thinking one of the islands to the west of Incheon.

Has anyone been to any? What was your fave? Everyone says Muuido. Luckily, we have Friday AND Mon and Tues off at my school, so we can get a jump on all the other guks and get a good hut. Right?!

Or is there somewhere else I should go?

Any and all thoughts appreciated.

In other news, if you're in Sanbon or nearby, let's be friends. K thanks. I'm really good at throwing darts at boards (or, an 01 game, if you will) and drinking and just being plain fun.

I went to Muui-do over Chuseok last year. You shouldn't have a problem getting a hut. I don't think they were even half-full last year. Just know that the shower facilities likely won't be working. If you get a beach hut you won't be able to shower while you are there.

There were a good number of foreigners there last year drinking and such. If that's your thing, it's good. If you are looking for some peace and quiet, Muui-do might not be the best choice.

Good to know. how long were you there? I'm going with a couple. The huts are like one "giant" bed, so we should get two seperate huts, right?

I'm thinking maybe go Fri Sat and Sun and then Monday explore Seoul and Tuesday hike Surisan near me...

Years ago to try and get some piece and quiet, I caught a ferry from Incheon to an outlying island.
Waste of a trip, the whole island had been wired with loudspeakers. Over the loudspeakers some clown was playing loud, badly distorted, Korean Trot music.

Surisan doesn't take very long, you'd be better off hitting up Gwanaksan if you want something to keep you busy.

Still wish you lived in the frat house? I never understood the point of drinking games.

Takeshima islands are lovely this time of year.

btw.. have you checked the weather forecast over Chuseok? I'm not sure a Korean style "beach hut" on a Korean "beach" will be a wonderful experience during cloudy and probably rainy weather Confused

There are, but the weather looks like it's going to be awful this weekend, and these aren't good places to hang out if the weather is bad.

I may be wrong, but I think the point is to get drunk.
