The first guy's lame, nasal, poorly-written early Eminem imitation is cringe-worthy.

Pinnacle is classy, clever, and delivers a cool verse. Not sure why he agreed to partner up with the first guy...really beneath him in terms of content, lyrical structure, and delivery.

Yeah. I thought it was a mis-match too.

Good production values though.

Lame topic. Storm in a teacup. Forgeddaboudit.

Far more constructive to do a general thing about the clash of eastern and western cultural norms rather than pick on the actions of one guy who just lost his temper at an ajeossi who thinks he can be society's policeman because he's over 40.

I really like Pinnacle's show on 101.3 and he is actually a really good rapper too.

The other guy was ok. (I couldn't help thinking he sounded a little bit racist though...)

I've always stuck to this rule: If you have to qualify a statement by saying, "I'm not a racist....but,...". Then you just shouldn't bother saying it.

Can't believe y'all are knocking the first verse. He's the filmmaker, and he did a pretty damn good job not only writing and performing the song, but editing the content. I challenge anyone on here judging him to post an example of equal quality.

Though it's a different style, here's another one a few of us made

I am not sure if this qualifies as a "sketch"....Seems more like a discussion about a topical issue. Not that it was bad, just I was waiting for some comedy that never really came

Production quality is there, both in terms of video and audio, so kudos to him on that. But as mentioned before his delivery just pales in comparison to Pinnacle's. His stiff cadence and pronunciation prevent his slant rhymes from even coming close to matching ("bus" and "tough" for example) and it comes off looking strained. Like, he should be doing the rap verse on Rebecca Black's "Friday" strained.

I dunno, I haven't seen this guys other stuff, whereas I've seen/heard Pinnacle on stage, on TV, on the radio, and on albums. Maybe the corny delivery was an attempt to lighten up a rather serious topic? Would be interested in seeing/hearing some other stuff from this guy.

The first guy should stick to editing. There's no shame in that... Do what ya do best.

The second guy's rhymes were great though. Quite impressive flow to him.

I'll agree with you about half of what you said. I didn't know he edited and produced it too. So I'll definitely give him credit for the production and editing. Stick to that. You are very talented at it. Rapping though. Leave it to Pinnacle and other pros.

I always thought this song was creative, well written (with the exception of the one verse where they rhyme the same word to itself) and well rapped (although amateurishly edited and directed)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjBfy_HVoSM

It has a very obvious Beastie Boys element to it.

Pinnancle is a better rapper than these guys. These guys are better rappers than the first guy from the OPs link. The first guy from the OPs link is the best editor/director leaps and bounds.

No one is knocking his editing/directing ability. It is really good. We just think he isn't that good a rapper. Doesn't help to have to go up right before Pinnacle though either...

Yup. From Cincinnati if I'm not mistaken. Dude has busted his a$$ to make a name for himself, which is why it kind of stings to see him paired up with this guy. There are an amazing number of lyricists from all over that he works with pretty frequently. Check out the Seoul Cypher series on youtube...would have been cool to get Manifest or JL in on this for a more Korean perspective instead of some Canadian dude.

Saw the discussion before.
BORING.
Let it go.

The production on the first was thumbs up.
I think he played the nerdy rap, nasal thing the way
he wanted. It was intended. I don't think he's trying to
cut a rap album. Either way, nice job.

Second dude was nothing special, but he sounded good.
All the writtens were funny and well thought out.
3.5 out of 5.
