Urine for drugs.

They will test for meth, coke, opiates, and THC.

Clean yourself up before coming

Don't fail your drug test. It is embarrasing and you have 14 days to vacate the country. You'll never get another job in Korea again!

Hello,
I am just wondering what type of drug test is usually done for the E2 visa (urine, blood, saliva, hair etc.).
Is there a standard procedure that is followed or does it depend on the clinic/employer etc.?
Does anyone know what drugs are being screened?
Thanks

keep dragging, snorting, shooting it up, or whateva you do with it. you'll be fine. Razz

They tested me right at the airport with the rubber glove treatment. I haven't been able to pass a proper movement for a week. They were damn thorough... they also took my blood when I got stage fright and couldn't give them a cup of urine while security watched. I can't figure out why I was flagged for this treatment, but I say stay away from Korea if you do any sort of drugs.

Caffeine was/is included on the drug test, at least at SNUH when I had one a year or so ago (the doc showed me the list, but I have forgotten most of it because I don't care). This made me chuckle. Good thing I didn't have chai that morning. Chai make me such a degenerate.

Do not forget the liver enzyme test for alcoholism. So remember no drinking on the plane. Also if your new boss offers you soju before you have done the medical test you might fail.

I also heard that immigration going to institute a psychological test for pedophilia too. They where going also use the Penile plethysmograph and Wondergirl and other K-Pop music videos. So in the future you will have to keep your dirty thoughts down. One twitch of mr johnson and you will deported.

hang on, they fail your drug test if there is any sign of alcohol in your system? that surely can't be correct.

Alcohol leaves your system quite quickly. If you drink on the day you have your test, you might (will?) have an issue. But, if you can't do without alcohol for that long, you have an issue anyway. If you had a few drinks a couple of days before, no worries. I have, however, taken ibuprofen for pain (a rather high dose) for a few days prior, and did end up redoing the liver test (no issues).

Come on! How dense are you people! Above was humor. Every week we get some question about drug testing. True some questions are legit - somebody worried about legal drugs and false postive. But every time of some newbie or some guy who has only comes to ESL cafe to get us to do their research (Damn google is so f-ing hard to use). It is almost becoming that the Koreans are right we are all drug addicts, stupid and child molesters.

Here is the simple instructions - MMM DRUGS ARE BAD OKAY! Don't do them.
Ok you want a little more detail - actually this. In general most hard drugs will be tested - yes TIMMY that does mean POT too - yes a few years ago they stop and started it but IT IS BACK ON THE TABLE. It will likely be done thru urine testing. Blood might in a rare chance happen but not likely. So if you want to pass - STOP USING DRUGS - actually even better if you can not control yourself enough to stop something long enough - do not come to Korea. Make a frigging responsible choice!

Here are some other simple instructions - IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING ON YOUR CRIMINAL RECORD you have a very good chance of being refused.

MORE ADVICE - NO I HAVE NOT HEARD OF SUCH AND SUCH SCHOOL IN SMALL TOWN KOREA. Here is an idea talk to them, talk to another or previous teacher there. If you are lucky maybe somebody might now something but odds are NO.

The biggest hint of all - learn to read and research. Yes you might have dig and read a lot crap before your find something here on Dave's but the info is out there. Yes the search function is cruddy but it can be worked with. If your livelihood and getting a job here or working does not constitute doing enough reading or research you are going to fail. Which is some amazing is to be a teacher you have to have a degree. How the hell did these people pass? You put 1 minute of research and are surprised when you get cheated or things go wrong - what the heck else do you expect.

Sorry to the regulars for my rant!
