I've been annoyed at this for quite some time. If you want to transfer onto the green line from the light blue line bound for Kangnam, you can't do so without going through the turnstiles and paying again.

So, I got into the habit of jumping the turnstiles. No one said anything and I did this occasionally for years then finally an adjosshi ran me down and made me pay (just five minutes ago).

Anyone else hate this? Why can't they make it so you don't have to pay?

You're seriously complaining about getting caught breaking the law?

I have to admit it's been a few years since I transferred there, but when did they block off the connection between the two lines?

What is he/she talking about? Why would you need to touch out in the first place?

Is this a joke? I transfer at Sadang several times a week. Just follow the signs for transfer. You don't need to scan your card or pay anything.

OP, you're going the wrong way.

Sadang isn't a big station, and only has 1 transfer point. #2 line is on B1 level, #4 line is on B2 level. Turnstiles are nowhere in between; just a short walk and a small flight of stairs. How could you be getting that lost?

fail fail fail. are you really are getting bent out of shape for having to pay 900 more imaginary won that you don't really have to pay since it's a transfer and thus break the law?

if this is the case then perhaps instead of teaching english you should be saving pennies while living at home with mom.

Seriously, how do you get that lost in Sadang station? Follow the line 4 platform south (the arrows to the green line are clear), go up the stairs following an obvious crowd and the green line headed to Gangnam is right there.

Try following the signs next time. Get on at the back of the train if you want to transfer going towards Gangnam, get off at the front if you want to go towards Sindorim. The stairs are right there.

The stairs at one end of the blue line go to kangnam, the steps at the other end go towards shindorim.... Not so hard to figure out if you read the signs...

There is no way to transfer from the light blue line to the green line bound for Kangnam without going through the turnstiles. I've checked and checked and even asked before.

You do have to pay again because you have to go through the turnstiles on one side and then pay again to get back in. It's the only subway station in Seoul with this problem.

My Korean friends have expressed the same annoyance. I shouldn't have to explain this so simply Razz

If you're okay with paying an extra 900won because you transfer at Sadang, then okay. Have fun. I don't want to pay it every time!

I make that transfer all the time without going through the turnstiles. Sorry, but you're very, very wrong.
