http://news.yahoo.com/astronauts-tracks-trash-seen-moon-photos-171551736.html

Apparently, a satellite going around the moon, 10-15 miles above, snapped these pics of the trails left behind from the rovers.

I've never been a conspiracy theorist, but the moon hoax people can make you doubt sometimes. ( http://www.braeunig.us/space/hoax.htm )

The only thing the theorists says that make me doubt is what they say about the Van Allen Radiation Belt that surrounds the Earth.

What do you say?

It's totally plausible that it could have been faked, given the political climate at the time, but I won't go as far as saying I believe it was a hoax.

No. So easy to hoax it, and so cheap. Seems logical to fake it.

IIRC Japan took their own independent pictures of some of the moon landing sites.

No.

There are so many websites that debunk those theories out there. That and basic understanding of astronomy, camera work and/or physics

No. The astronaut footage in the moon reminds me of Nevada for some reason.

To believe the moon landings were a hoax you would need to have the kind of mind which sees the almost impossible as likely, and the likely as almost impossible........in other words, you're wired up wrong.

If you have questions about the moon landing get out your telescope. Dial into the sea of tranquility look for trash and the American flag and the Lunar vehicle that was used. Go to a observatory if you have to. That will answer your questions.

Let me add a bit of nuance to our speculations:

How about a scenario where one or more successful trips to the moon were made, but later ones faked, for whatever reason?

I think it is more likely that any fakery was done for earthly reasons - money, politics, technical limitations or whatever, but I do think it's plausible that some astronauts have had UFO encounters and been ordered to keep quiet.

Not plausible to fake it. Ridiculous to think it was a fake. Of course NASA managed to land on the Moon more than once.

I believe it was real and that a lot of the experiments and technologies used in the various space programs have resulted in products that we use everyday.
