I am trying to hook up my ps3 to my tv in my apartment i have a converter hooked up to a adapter and the cables seem to eb in the right place and i think I am on the right channel but no picture. The ps3 turns on and seems to be running normal. any suggestions?

What are you trying to connect the PS3 to the TV with, HDMI?

no there is no hdmi hook up in the back of the tv, I am using the ps3 cables, I just hooked up the dvd player in my room to the tv and that worked but when I put the cables in the same input jacks, nothing.

You might have to buy a cheap flat HDTV with your first paycheck then, like I had to. The nasty 20 year old CRT TV/video player combo that the school provided literally just had a aerial socket on the back, nothing else.

Try holding down the on button until you hear 2 beeps. That should reset the PS3's output to work with the standard a/v cables.

one more question, should I run the voltage converter on high or low. When i run it on high the converter it makes a humming noise and gets a little hot, I havent tried it on low, should I?

you dont actually need the voltage converter because there is a transformer built into the system itself. Just like a common laptop all you need is a plug converter. I have mine running just fine without a converter.

And you can actually just buy a Korean power cord and it'll work just fine. One end will fit the PS3 and the other will fit a Korean wall socket. You should be able to pick one up at HomePlus/Emart type place or a copy shop like Alpha.
