Has anyone ever cleaned the inside of those wall mounted aircons? You know, the ones installed in almost every small room or apartment in Korea.
I always go about cleaning by simply removing the filters and cleaning those, but lately my unit has been dripping water from the plastic at the bottom. The fan blades are looking very dirty. Is it possible to remove the whole front of the unit and clean it yourself or do I need to call my landlord? It's a Whisen model, btw. |

I've always cleaned it that way as well. Remove the filters and wash them in the bathroom. If you have a vacuum with a hose attachment, vacuum the metal grid the filters usually attach to.
If it's leaking, it might need to be recharged. You'll have to call the aircon company (or your landlord) to bring the frozen gas and charge it again. It usually runs out at the end of the summer after having been run for a few months. |

The rotor blades on mine were totally plugged up with gunk. I just got in there with a pencil and scraped it off, then it all blew out when I turned it on. Made a mess, but my place is finally cool again.... |
