Hi all. I am starting my thrid year in Korea but this time in Sinchon. I like the area a lot so far, even though I am about 15 mintues from the damn subway station, but I have yet to meet any friends localy. There are a lot of foreigners walking around but I suspect them to be summer students only. Are there any bars out in Sincho esspecially for foreigners? Where are they?

Anyone live in Sinchon and need a drinking buddy? I get off work around 7pm and am usually ready to have a pint and think about something else besides work. I am a pretty interesting guy myself. I just moved back to Korea after taking 5 months off to cycle across Asia. I rode my bike from Beijing to New Delhi. You can read about that here: http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/thecyclingvagabond

Anyone interested in languages, music, culture, history, anthropology, traveling, ect.. hit me up on my PM and I'll buy the first round!

Yes! Best pizza in Korea IMO and they've got the Lost Coast IPA and the Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout. Here's their facebook link: http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=18441426848

Also, isn't Mike's Cabin in Sinchon? I haven't been there in a couple of years but it was a cool place.

Oh yeah, Mike's Cabin as well. I've only really been there once, sadly.

Good luck finding these places, I know how to find them but have no idea how to explain. I'm sure you could just ask people on the street or something.

At the bar I totally agree. But the Gyungnidan place...must be something to do with their pans. I've gotten their 'za to go several times and it's not quite there for some reason. Crying or Very sad

is barfly any good?

head out of exit 2 and take the first right before the big hyundai department store.... keep walking down that road til you pass the uplex on the right. you should be at a t-junction, walk staight across (no zebra crossing) and keep walking til about the 3rd left. it'll be 50 yards down that street on the left.

(if that makes any sense)

i've never been to watts on tap but i know it's on the same strip walking down to beer o clock (before you turn left).

is it still open? i'm sure i read that it had closed last year.

to the op - there is also ipub (former king's tap) near choi's tacos. it's not a foreigner bar per se but has table football, darts, shuffleboard. always a few foreigners in there

In case you dont know, Sincheon is not Sinchon. Shin-chun / Shin-chone. Different districts.
