Personally, I have always flushed toilet paper in my own home, and fellow teachers' homes as well. They do the same. None of us have ever had a problem with it; no plumbing probems--and I lived in the same apt for nearly 4 years.
But what is the protacol when you go to someone else's home?
The reason I bring this up is, a friend of mine had a 'pre Chuseok' gathering a couple days ago, with both foreigners and Koreans.
Someone left a pile of nasty sh*t wipes in her bathroom garbage can, so foul you could smell it and see the sh*t! The culprit didn't even try to be discreet! Sorry if this in "un-PC", but I'm assuming it was one of the Korean guests.
In my opinion if someone isn't going to flush their piss or shit wipes when they are at someone elses' home, they should take it with them!
I have never had this problem before, but I'm tempted to post a sign in my bathroom: "If you're not going to flush your filth, take it home with you!"
Sorry--just had to vent

Can't comment on this, but does anyone else regularly find unflushed turds in public bathrooms here? I experience this once ever week or so in the bathrooms outside my hagwon. The damndest thing is that there's no tissue in there with it, and it's not in the bin either. Perplexing.

There's no tissue with it?

They took the OP's advice and took the used tissue home with them.....can't explain why they didn't flush but at least they got it half right Smile
