Hey,
Just thought I'd let you know that Tomatilo opened this weekend in Itaewon. It is behind the Hamilton and up a bit near Smoky's Saloon and Pro Nails. Went in today for lunch - awesome chicken tortila soup and nice staff. Place is three flours so lots of seating space. Delicious.
Enjoy,

That's actually a very decent Mexican place. Will look forward to going there.

Having grown up a stone's throw from the US-Mexican border, I know that Tomatillo most certainly doesn't qualify as Mexican. Furthermore I'm sick of people claiming that Taco Bell is authentic Mexican. It ain't.

easy there frank. Just because you grew up close to mexico, doesnt make you the foremost expert on mexican food and such. Thats like saying a person grew up near canada so knows canadian cuisine.

taco bell is garbage fast food regardless lol

I'm pretty sure no one has ever said that. That said, let's have another Taco Bell debate!

Why does every post like this bring out the self-annointed Tex-Mexperts? People are saying they like it and passing on the info. People have in fact gone out of their way to clarify that they don't consider Taco Bell authentic Tex-Mex, and yet they stilll keep coming. You need to realise that quite simply no one who enjoys any of these places cares an iota how you rank it. It's irrelevant to them.

jesus christ.

can we please shut the f*** up about such-and-such place not being legit? this restaurant doesn't taste identical to restaurant A in mexico city? no s***!

most of the mexican joints these days are comparable to most tex-mex places for everyone outside of cali/southern-u.s.

Thanks OP, I did not know that. I do enjoy Tomatillos food in Korea, regardless of how authentic or inauthentic it may be.

I also enjoy my own incredibly inauthentic mexican inspired food that I make at home. Very Happy That is to say, it is not authentically mexican, because it is authentic food.

i think some foods must maintain authenticity in order for it to be good, for example, viet food. but with something like mexican food, it can be fusion-ised as hell and still be really good.

Taco Bell is good for the price. But, authentic? No. It's fast food, but it hits the spot, doesn't it?

It's the same as pizza, one person says they like pizza from a certain restaurant and then you get 10 people saying it's garbage. Then you get the joy of hearing them talk about pizza from <insert city> and why it's the best in existence.

I actually disagree with this, especially since Taco Bell seems to have raised their prices within the last few weeks. The food was already mediocre at best, and these price increases were the final straw for me; I now refuse to eat there.

I'll take a kebab or empanada over the garbage they serve at Taco Bell, thank you very much.

I lived in Mexico and can confirm that Taco Bell is indeed authentic.

Can't you see that they have corn chips and cinnamon twists?
