I've had my Galaxy S1 for just over a year, and since my (very old) iPod recently broke, I want to use my phone to play music. The problem is I don't know how to do this.

1) How do I transfer songs from my computer to the phone? Where do they go on the phone?
2) Is there any way to make the volume louder? Sometimes I watch videos on my phone, but if there's even a little background noise, like on the subway, I can't hear it very well. My iPod, for example, was much louder.

I know I ought to be able to do this stuff, but I can't and am grateful for any help.

After plugging in your Galaxy you should allow USB transfer by pressing the button which shows on the Galaxy screen.

Then, using your PC, make a folder called 'music', or whatever, in the internal memory of the Galaxy or its SD card, providing you have one.

Then simply drag and drop the music files you want into the folder.

The cool thing about Android is that when you unplug the USB it will scan all the memory for new video and audio files and then link them to your Galaxy's video or audio player automatically. So they will show when you open video or audio player.

The problem of background noise can be solved by getting a good pair of IEM's. In-Ear-Monitors.........those things that go right in your ear canal. Spend about 100,000 on a pair of those and your background noise problem will disappear..........plus your music will sound absolutely friggin' amazing.
