I know price won't fluctuate that much but every little bit helps.
Basically I'm asking if the resellers in Yonsan are a) legit and b) cheaper. (I don't want to end up with a refreb, etc...)
Or should I stick with one of the big retailers.
Thanks. |

The re-sellers should be fine. They should have something that says "apple authorized re-seller".
The best bet is to order it back home, have someone unbox it and mail it to you. Much cheaper. |

There's only about a 100USD difference and most of that would be eaten by shipping, insurance etc...
Unless I'm missing something. |

| Nope, you aren't missing anything. Also depends on where "home" is. For NETs from some countries, Korean prices may actually be better or equivalent. If you are a PS teacher, you can also get a discount if you order online (or call them). The re-sellers like Frisbee cannot offer the teacher discount. |

I don't believe that Apple in Yongsan is in any way better than a Frisbee store or anywhere else. I am sour on Yongsan because of the scams they pull already.
If you have a good friend or access to a Korean credit card, I'd suggest purchasing online and using the education discount, or GMarket. |

That's probably because they don't have to be transported very far.
Designed in California, made in China! |

| I'd love to get an Air in Korea and use the education discount but the lack of English-only keyboards here makes me pause. |

I hadn't even thought of that. I really don't want Korean characters on my mac's keyboard. (would never use them) |

You can also order by phone. The agents speak English, and you can do a bank transfer. |

I don't expect to be able to use my education discount at the airport duty-free but has anyone seen Apple computers for sale at Incheon? I haven't looked myself but it'd be a good option to have. |

| looking at the education discount page on the korean apple store, the prices here are in fact around 300pounds less for the same mac book air than I saw in the apple store in Scotland a few weeks ago when I was on a home visit...in the UK we can order several kinds of keyboards...might be worth calling them and asking if they can supply ENG only keyboard. |

Might be, but not likely. They stock only Asian keyboards (Chinese/Korean/Japanese/Thai) since they all come from one warehouse in Singapore... I think its Singapore, but all Asian custom orders come from one place. |

Hey!! Can we order 'English keyboard' Macs from the Mac stores here?
Also, what this education discount about? Could i get my friend in a public school to buy me one?
Although then would i be screwed for insurance purposes, because its registered in his name?? |
