Down here in Changwon you can see them run their prostitute rackets pretty openly. Vans of women being dropped off and picked up at business bars and the like. See lots of what appears to be "muscle" hanging out near the Family Mart. I think they are only really there to look tough and drive the real big shots around though.

You really believe this?

For the right amount of money I'd rat myself out.

well we all would for a CERTAIN amount of money.
but you know how a kid screws up or does something in class.
Especially if it's not super serious.

I can come in and say.. who did this????

in US.. you'd get silence, people would turn away and some would give you blank stares.

In Korea.. my highschoolers usually point to the miscreant/guilty party IMMEDIATELY.

I always chuckle at this Very Happy

It seems you're viewing this as a negative.

not from MY (aka teacher) standpoint. Helps control the classroom Smile

but if I were a classmate, I'd take a dim view of such people (depending on what the "crime" in question was)

I DO notice they will NOT snitch on who's smoking in the boys room though. That would probably mean an automatic ass kicking coming from the smokers.

By the way, I got all of these from the brother of an ex Korean gf of mine. He was a detective in Seoul who is part of the new organised crime task force being put together by the president. He used to pay me to tutor him in English, but most of the time we just ended up at a hoff drinking a lot and him blabbering on endlessly about all this while I corrected grammar and pronunciation mistakes he made. Although, it wasn't a bad way to spend a Thursday evening and earn fifty bucks.

I enjoyed reading that mate Smile
