For some reason, 10000 won notes often dont go over well paying for a short ride. I try to make a point of carrying singles or a 5-note if I intend to take a taxi. If I only have big bills, I ask the driver before getting in if thats okay.

I 95% of the time do as well as i can't imagine how hard it must be to get change. I was a pizza delivery man when i was 16/17so i can relate.

It's funny how people consider a W10,000 note as large. For crying out loud it's worth almost nothing. It's the equivalent of Australias second smallest note.

No wonder Korea hasnt introduced larger notes yet. People baulk at changing W10,000 what happens if they bring out a W50,000 note?

Its not the worth, it would be the continually giving out of change that is the taxi drivers concern. The problem is because it is worth so small, a lot of people carry them so you would have to be on top of the change sitation all the time.

In the back. When I first got here a Korean taxi driver decided that he was going to get interested in my privates. I'd only just arrived so it was like a gentle sort of answering to his question. Like, ha ha, your funny. Then he tries to grab me down there.

WTF. My opinion of Koreans dropped that day. And has been sliding ever since. I'm more likely now just to tell them to get fucked... But I think most Koreans know what I think of them and usually avoid me. Good for them.

Although... Yes I know... Someone is going to go. Well you can't blame an entire country on just one person. It's not. A large percentage of Koreans that I have met have just either fucked me around, asked rude and inappropriate questions, been intrusive, rude and unthinking, made my life a little bit more difficult here than it should be, been less than hospitable, etc... That's two years here too. At this point in may life I don't have the highest opinion of any Koreans. They're idiots.

So don't anyone sound off at me about how great Koreans are. For me. They're not. I'm like the guest at the party that you know is there but don't see. After all this time I do what I have to do without bothering anyone.
