I think it's a ISP thing....the totally harmless english only site Esnips used to be blocked at my home...but not at my school...

My school has a filter, which blocks a decent number of englush game site(and even some really obscure ones like modding and development sites), but damn near every Korean social website is unblocked inclduing dating ones.

Bassexpander. Which protests am I talking about? The protests that took place yesterday and today in the middle of Seoul! At and around City Hall. Some 160,000 protestors turned out today with many hundreds of Seoul Police in full battle rattle barricading the street and different areas. It was all shut down in the middle of Seoul.

Even after many of the protestors were detained and others fled via the subway, many Koreans were standing around watching and every so often individual men were yelling things out, and police immediately bum rush them, used physical force, and snatched em' up. This country is having serious social issues despite doing very well economically.

If there is a large anti-American sentiment, why does Korea prefer American teachers and even wear and display the American flag every day. Sure, there's the beef issue that happened a year ago, but that was only about protecting domestic economic interests; not because Korean don't like Americans. Who protested then? The beef producers and sellers. Who's protesting now and thinking the same as the protestors? Many different Koreans of all walks of life existing in Korea.

I firmly believe the police warning popups are a result of the presidents newly formed organziations against free speech who will then take that from everyone in Korea. Please remember this statement I made and report back to me in 6 months to a year.

I agree -- serious social issues.

But I'm not sure I'd prefer a left-leaning president who steals money for his family while kissing North Korea's butt (and sending money there, too).

Too true. I like how you said almost. Wink

Regarding AFF, just use this URL after replacing the Latin name of this plant without the fruit: www.Passiflora_edulis.com.

Same site, different domain name.

Nit that I'd ever use it myself Rolling Eyes

i love lee myun bak and hope he stays as president forever and actually brings in more english teachers!! unfortunately, his strategies are being fought against and i'm losing my job at my school =(

anyway, to the guy who said that the beef riots were cuz of the freedom of speech thing... NOPE! it was cuz of some bogus tv documentaries on how 100% of people will die if they ingest a tiny bit of infected meat with mad cow's disease. they don't just hate ameircan beef. canadian and australians are also considered inferior. but at least australian beef doesn't "kill" people. when the truth came out, people chilled out.

also, the reason these sites are banned is because you are required to provide your legal name and age etc to porno sites. since they only require you to type in your "name" and "age" and since there are actual pictures of sexuality there, the korean police ban you. i would assume once you have to fill out your korean ID numbers there, you'll be alright! youtube was also banned for this very reason. youtube didn't want to know people's private information but korea demanded it. they circumvented this by putting that worldwide filter thing. now, if you live in korea, you can't even post a comment unless you STATE that you're not korean.
i was pretty upset that xnxx was blocked but whatever... what can u do?!?!
