Does anyone know of any bakery in Seoul that will make a vanilla cake to order? I don't live in Seoul, but I'm willing to go there to get a cake. I'm just looking for a simple cake for a birthday -- and I personally have no oven. Yellow cake (with vanilla icing) is okay too. I tried Paris Baguette and just got confused looks.

go to a bakery in your area and ask for a cas-tey-rah cake (yellow cake). make sure they understand the shape you want it, as casteras usually come in the form of a loaf. then tell them you want ban-nil-la i-shing (vanilla icing). you'll get what you want. good luck.

Just FYI - I went to my boss about "castera" cake and asked him to write me a letter. I took it to Tous les jours and got a cake made, no problem. No vanilla icing though, just "milk cream" stuff.
