Im currently in between contracts right now and I came to Seoul for a 5 day trip today to visit and hang out with a friend of mine (and to attend a party this saturday, but thats a different thing altogether). Unfortunately my friend has bailed on me because she has to attend a wedding tomorrow, which she told me nothing about until after I arrived in seoul (Not that I have a big problem with that, rather I am a little mystified at being asked to come to seoul a few days earlier than I planned, and then getting bailed on, but I digress!)

Anyway...Now I'm in seoul, and I dont really know anyone, nor do I really know what to do per say. Done all the things like the museum, Coex, Aquarium, Folk village, in the past. Its a big city, but it seems like all the best things here tend to be group activities

Samcheong-dong is cool, particularly if you like taking pictures. It's got lots of cafes and galleries, and old hanoks on a hill overlooking Myeongdong/Namsan. It's a great photo op, if you enjoy taking pictures. Easily accessed from Insadong.

Times Square in Mok-dong is probably the nicest mall in the country, and a really cool building architecturally. It also has what was previously the largest movie screen in the world (I'm not sure if it still is).

You could head down to Seoul Racecourse Park if you feel like gambling a couple bucks on some horses for an experience, or hit up Grand Park for a more wholesome feel.

If you're willing to make a bit more of a trek, Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon is unique, and could keep you busy for awhile.

Thanks...I ended up going to Gyeongbukgung today. Wasn't really my thing though. I found the palace museum more interesting than the actual Palace itself
