I'm quitting before the contract finishes. The BMCOE is going to cancel my visa. I gave a proper notice before quitting. Do I need a letter of release to sign at another school? I'd be signing before the original ending date of my visa. But since their canceling the visa couldn't I just get a new one? E-2 btw. |

If your visa is canceled; you won't need a letter of release. |

I just wanted to update everyone. I did get a letter of release from BMCOE. I used that LOR to transfer visas to my current workplace without having to go through the process of getting a new visa (just did a visa extension for another year with the new workplace). In fact I quit in Jan. 2011. BMCOE didn't cancel my visa. I spent about two months on vacation and then came back and still transferred. Getting the LOR was a pain though. The director denied me twice but in the end gave it. I'll never really know why. Maybe because I was persistent? |

I'd say so. I am curious what advantage they have in not reporting teachers to immigration that they are no longer teaching at their school. Seems like we would be a liability to them. |
