With the new fall TV season getting into high gear this week, I thought it would be beneficial to have a thread where we all can discuss/recommend new shows debuting this fall.

I've read that most of the new pilots were less than stellar, but there's still a few I'm interested in checking out:
"New Girl" debuts this week on FOX -- I, like many of you, am mildly obsessed with Zooey Deschanel, so I will give it at least a try.
"Terra Nova" has the potential to be a colossal failure, but the idea seems too spectacular not to at least see the pilot.
Next month we have Showtime's "Homeland" (seems to be the consensus best pilot this year), and I have to admit I'm curious enough from the weird promos to check out "American Horror Story" on FX.

That's what's on my radar at the moment. How about yours?

i watched "ringer" and "the secret circle" but both were too cheesy/ridiculous. i watched "up all night" and "free agent" and they are both moderately funny so i'll give them a chance for a few episodes. there are a lot more on my list to check out but i haven't had time. "american horror story" is definitely the one i'm most looking forward to though.

It is not new but it made a change and I am looking for opinions and why. 2 1/2 men with Kutchner. Good or bad?

As far as new shows go, I saw Terra Nova last night. So far all the conflict seems a bit too contrived, and there really doesn't seem to be a need for the dinosaurs, which are cheaply animated compared to what we've come to expect. It also has a few elements that are too reminiscent of Outcasts, though both probably went into in production at the same time.

I also saw Person of Interest, which seems like it has promise, but they gave Michael Emerson some horrifically bad lines.

I als watched Terra Nova. Some cheesy cliches in there with some corny dialogue and crappy CGI. Still, I'll probably follow it regulalrly. The guy who played the grizzled and sadistic miltary leader from Avatar (an off-world fantasy movie) is in this, and in a massive departure from that role he plays a grizzled and kind-hearted miltary leader in an off-world fantasy setting.

didn't like kutcher on 2 1/2 -- thought his comedy was forced and predictable. That role suited sheen perfectly -- meh. I never watched that show religiously, but i didn't mind watching it when someone else had it on, or on an airplane.

Homeland sounds kind of similar to Damian Lewis' last show in that it's probably only got a season in it.
