I am not polluting the thread, as I was the first one to tell the OP about the procedures.

Sure, now just drop it. No flame wars to get what is a good informative thread locked please. This is helpful information that isn't easily found elsewhere(though you'd think it would be).

Mods, if you have to, at least cull the dribble and leave the meat?

Don't blame me, blame the posters who brought Smee upand then defended his illegal actions.

I don't think anyone has answered the OP's question. He asked about non-teaching 2nd jobs.

You can get a 2nd teaching job like tompaz said, but I don't think you can get a non-teaching job.

Read again. ttompatz was pretty specific in his first post.

My question, would that apply to a job in just about any venue? Say bartender, or chef?

Thanks for all the advice. Din't think it would be that much an issue. How likely/unlikely will immigration be to let me take on a second job?

Not that difficult PROVIDED you are not working for a public school (government workers are forbidden to take a 2nd job that is not also a government job).

.

Does this still apply if you're working for an AFTERSCHOOL program? I recently got an offer from one and because of the lower hours I'm eager to earn some extra money with part time work.

It depends on who is your actual visa sponsor (who signed the guarantee form and whose business registration is on file for you as your sponsor).

IF your visa sponsor is the (public) school then yes, it applies.
IF your visa sponsor is NOT the (public) school then no, it doesn't apply.

.

From the list of documents that the program listed for a visa/transfer, it seems that they're submitting both the school's business registration form and the program's...

a) If the PS is listed as a sponsor then it applies.
b) If the PS is NOT listed then it does not.

If they both are then <a> applies (civil service act NOT immigration).
