Hello,
When looking at Korean jobs advertised on this site, most require a CRB check to have been done at the time of application? is this correct in all cases for teaching in Korea?
I am originally from Canada but have been living in England since 2007. Would I need a CRB check for both Canada and UK?
Does anyone from the UK know which check is required by Korean immigration?
26 standard CRB check
44 enhanced CRB check
I have not applied for any jobs yet but am trying to sort everything out beforehand.
Thanks |

UK Check is from Disclosure Scotland, you just need a basic disclosure. It's the UK-wide check, don't be confused by the 'Scotland' in the name. |

I think I am going to apply for the visa with my Canadian passport as Canadians get a refund of their pension contributions.
I'm guessing this would mean having a CBC done for Canada as opposed to the UK?
It's a bit tricky as I have been living in the UK for the past 4 years, so would need to get fingerprint check done here which is quite expensive then send it over to the RCMP. |

If you are using a Canadian passport you need an RCMP check AND it must be certified by the Korean consulate in Canada.
Details are on the RCMP website and it takes from 4-5 months to get if you apply from abroad. Add another month for the consular certification if you are doing it from abroad.

Do you think I would be able to use a UK criminal background check but still apply for the E-2 visa on my Canadian passport to make use of the pension refund? |

I extremely doubt you can use a Canadian passport and purely a UK CRC. |
